"Associação Férias Vivas", established in 2002, in São Paulo, Brazil, is a non-profit private association of public interest. Its social objective is to contribute for the promotion of self supportted tourism, specialized in safety risk management for tourism and leisure activities.

Identifing potential health and physical hazards in the industry of tourism and leisure, "Associação Férias Vivas" works with the Government, consumers, other non governmental organizations, hotels and resorts, clubs and other private suppliers that participates in the chain of tourism industry, to widespread the recognition that it is necessary to implement specific risk management practices to prevent and control these hazards.

Our Mission: To extend the conscience of prevention and safety in tourism and leisure and to minimize the occurrence of accidents.

Our View: Safety must be present in all the tourism and leisure activities. Only with safety and security it is possible to expand tourism activities, without the disruption of business and the reputation loss, that are caused by accidents.

"Férias Vivas" actions are framed in three strategic areas:

Knowledge: involves the activities of research, organization and disposal of the knowledge acquired by "Associação Férias Vivas" on the subject of risk management in the activities of tourism and leisure.

Norms and/or Legislation: involves the relations of "Associação Férias Vivas" with other non governmental organizations and Government agencies responsible for the elaboration of norms and/or legislation to stipulate safety guidelines in tourism and leisure activities.

Formation: involves the initiatives of "Associação Férias Vivas" aiming to acquire knowledge and to radiate the safe attitude in tourism and leisure.

Objectives:

• To spread the culture of risk management and prevention in tourism and leisure industry.
• To defend and to protect the rights of consumers, promoting the observance of the applicable legislation related to Life, Health, Safety and Security.
• To stimulate and to develop the full exercise of citizenship through education and awareness for the improvement of quality and safety of tourism products and services.
• To promote studies and researchs on the causes of accidents occurred in tourism and leisure activities, certain that this is a valuable knowledge to prevent similar accidents in the future.
• To promote, to produce and to spread scientific information, studies, researches, technical and scientific knowledge about the basic rights of the consumer of tourism services.
• To do risk diagnosis, through the identification and the valuation of the probability of occurrence and the gravity of all potential hazards associated with a specific activity or service related to tourism and leisure sectors.
• To stimulate the partnership between all the involved social segments and organizations directly or indirectly related to tourism and leisure industry, in order to create a culture and an environment of excellence in safety.
• To spread the culture through lectures, courses, seminaries, symposiums, congresses, expositions and other similar activities.
